Founded in 1954, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd has attempted to further develop the work of Dr. Maria Montessori in the realm of the spiritual life of the child. Themes are presented in such a way as to develop the religious potential present in every child: the capacity to love and be loved and be in a deep relationship with God. This course covers the minimum of 120 hours of formation needed to receive Level 3 Certification from the National Association of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.

Formation Leader - Claudia Margarita Schmitt
Born in Santiago de Chile. Claudia received her degree in Education in Germany, and then did her Masters studies in School Administration in Porto Alegre, Brazil. She also holds an Education degree in the Montessori Method from the German Academy of Development Rehabilitation in Munich. Claudia studied for eight years in Rome with Sofia Cavalletti and Gianna Gobbi in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) method of religious formation where she received her certification from the Diocese of Rome. During her time in Rome she also studied under Fr. Mongillo at the Angelicum University. Claudia has worked for the past thirty years as an International trainer for CGS . She has worked extensively with children of various ages and adults worldwide. She currently serves as a Catechist at St. Timothy Catholic Curch in Mesa, AZ in all three levels of CGS (ages 3-6; 6-9; 9-12).

$200 - Auditors (open to those with previous Level 3 certification) - Auditors may register after March 15, 2024
